Run your own city.
LitheraRP is open for community hosting on s&box. Launch the gamemode on your own dedicated server, edit your configs, run a roleplay server the way your community wants it.
Your rules, your numbers
Tax rates, salaries, fines, drug yields, job slot caps. Every value lives in a JSON file. Most settings hot-reload through the in-game config workspace.
Open for extension
Add jobs, shop items, NPCs, vehicles, emergency services through the managed editors. Deeper SDK access for custom code is gated through the Discord while the API stabilizes.
Themed & localized
Ship a custom theme with your own brand colors and HUD styles. Drop in a custom language pack alongside English, French, and German.
Same code as official
Community servers run the same build as Lithera Studio. No second-class branch, no feature gates between official and community hosts.
From cloud to running city in four steps.
Spin up an s&box dedicated server, point it at the gamemode, edit your configs, you are live.
Install the dedicated server
Pull the s&box dedicated server binaries with SteamCMD on a Linux or Windows box.
Boot with the gamemode
Launch s&box with the LitheraRP package as the active game. The s&box cloud pulls the gamemode on first run.
Edit your configs
First boot writes default JSON configs into the Data folder. Open them, change what you want, reload through the in-game workspace.
Run your community
Open the server config workspace with /config in chat, edit live, save, reload. Console reload commands cover the rest.
Answers, in plain language.
If yours is not here, the Discord is the fastest way to get a real answer from a real human.
Is community hosting really free?
Yes. There is no license fee and no per-slot pricing. You pay for the machine that runs the server, nothing else.
What do I need to run a server?
An s&box dedicated server install on a Linux or Windows box, an inbound UDP port reachable from the internet, and basic comfort editing JSON files.
Hardware sizing depends on the slot count you want. Validate on a low-slot configuration first and scale up as you measure CPU and memory headroom on your hardware.
Can I modify the gamemode?
Most gameplay rules sit in configs/*.json and the in-game /config workspace edits them live with backup and validation. Jobs, shop items, NPCs, vehicles, emergency services, GPS locations, RP names, and arrest presets all have managed editors.
Themes and localization packs are first-class too: drop a new theme folder under configs/themes/ or a new language under Data/Localization/.
Which map is supported?
RP Downtown ships as the default map, but custom maps are fully supported.
The gamemode exposes map-override hooks for spawn points, NPC placement, doors, properties, taxi paths, and economy rules. Bringing a new map up is on you: place the doors, NPCs, spawns, and GPS points yourself, then wire the per-map overrides through the config files. See Custom map for the full workflow.
What happens when LitheraRP updates?
Updates ship through the s&box cloud. Restart the server to pull the latest build.
Back up your Data folder before every planned restart while LitheraRP is in early access. The save schema is not yet frozen and a migration that goes sideways is much easier to recover from with a backup.
How do I get help?
The LitheraRP Discord is the support channel. Bug reports, config questions, partnership inquiries, all go there. Tag the right channel and a Lithera dev or a fellow host will pick it up.
You will not be alone.
